Tom Boney serves as chairman of the Aluminum Association’s Transportation Group (ATG), an industry trade group that is the voice of aluminum to the transportation industry in the United States.
Mr. Boney began his career in the aluminum industry in 1987 and is currently vice president and general manager of the automotive value stream for Novelis North America. Mr. Boney joined Novelis in 2006 as plant manager in Oswego, New York and today leads all aspects of the company’s North American automotive business, including sales/commercial activities, program development and launch, supply chain and logistics, demand forecasting, service and order fulfillment. In the last eight years, Mr. Boney has served in several senior-level manufacturing and leadership positions in Zurich, Atlanta and Malaysia.
Mr. Boney was most recently managing director for ALCOM, a part of Novelis. Previously, Mr. Boney held several leadership positions at Alcoa during his 17-year career with the company, including operations manager for Alcoa Wheels, a first-tier supplier to Chrysler, Ford and General Motors.
A graduate of St. Bonaventure University in New York, Mr. Boney received a degree in Finance and played four years of basketball for the university.
