The Center for Automotive Research (CAR) produces industry-driven research and analyses; develops forecasts; fosters dialogue and convenes forums; and publicly disseminates our research through conferences, events, and the media. Our mission is to educate, inform and advise industry stakeholders, policy makers, and the general public on critical issues facing the automotive industry and its impact on the U.S. economy and society. As an independent, non-profit, research organization with a multi-disciplinary approach, CAR engages with leaders in the global automotive industry to support technology advancements and improve the competitiveness of the U.S. automotive industry.

Coalition For Automotive Lightweight Materials: Manufacturing and Materials Researcher (SME)
The Center for Automotive Research is hiring an independent contractor to serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Coalition for Automotive Lightweight Materials (CALM). CALM is a collaboration of more than twenty automotive industry-leading organizations working to support the cost-effective integration of environmentally sustainable mixed materials to achieve significant reductions in mass through the joint efforts of the material sectors and the auto manufacturers. Supporting organizations participate in the CALM working group through an ongoing, annual commitment funded by participating CAR Affiliate organizations.
