Shalaj Gupta joined ArcelorMittal in the US as Manager, Distribution Strategy, Strategic Marketing in October 2015. After working in the Chicago headquarters for about a year, Shalaj moved to the Southfield office and was responsible for leading the development of strategy for the Automotive business in North America and supporting growth plans for ArcelorMittal’s non-automotive business in Mexico. In March 2020, Shalaj assumed his current position as Director, Marketing and Performance Improvement.

Shalaj joined ArcelorMittal Group in 2008 in our corporate headquarters in Luxembourg in Europe as Manager, International business development in ArcelorMittal Distribution Solutions (AMDS). Since then, he held various positions in the organization in managerial roles, including in the London and Mexico offices, leading projects and initiatives in mergers and acquisitions, capital investments, strategy, marketing, shared services, purchasing and supply chain.

Prior to joining ArcelorMittal, Shalaj worked in the technology sector as a consultant for clients in Germany and the US.

Shalaj has an MBA from Rotterdam School of Management (RSM), Erasmus University in Rotterdam, Netherlands and a Bachelor in Electronics Engineering from Mumbai University, Mumbai, India.
