Shailen Bhatt

Shailen P. Bhatt is Senior Vice President, Global Transportation Innovation and Alternative Delivery at AECOM (NYSE:ACM), the world’s premier infrastructure consulting firm, delivering professional services across the project lifecycle – from planning, design and engineering to consulting and construction management.

Mr. Bhatt joined the company in September 2021 and heads the Innovation and Alternative Delivery group within the company’s global Transportation business, which has been consistently ranked No. 1 by Engineering News-Record. His team is responsible for driving next-generation transportation strategies and alternative delivery approaches, developing innovative solutions and initiating new collaborations and
partnerships to support the delivery of safe, sustainable and cost-effective transportation systems.

Prior to joining AECOM, Mr. Bhatt served as president and chief executive officer of the Intelligent Transportation Society of America (ITS America), a Washington, D.C.-based association whose business, government and academic members are advancing the deployment of new transportation technologies, including connected and automated vehicles.

Mr. Bhatt has also served in senior government leadership roles as executive director for the Colorado Department of Transportation, cabinet secretary for the Delaware Department of Transportation, and as a presidential appointee at the U.S. Department of Transportation.

Additionally, he has served as Chair of the Board of Directors for the National Operations Center of Excellence (NOCoE) and the Executive Committee of the I-95 Corridor Coalition, and is an active member of the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) Global Agenda Council on the Future of Automotive and Personal Transport.
