Chief Systems Architect

Matt is the Chief Systems Architect at Wind River. In this role, he is working to advance safety critical real-time, Linux and cloud technologies with the aim to transform market segments ranging from aerospace and defense, automotive, industrial, medical, and telecommunications.
A long standing active member of the GENIVI Alliance, Matt has previously served as its President, and is currently head of product marketing for the alliance. The alliance is focused on infotainment and the connected car to power the next generation of mobility solutions. GENIVI is an alliance of OEMs, Tier 1s and other players in the automotive ecosystem dedicated to accelerating development through open platforms and standards.
Prior to joining Wind River, Matt was the Senior Vice President at Virgin Hyperloop One where he led the Software Engineering teams responsible for providing all the software needed to manage, control, and operate an autonomous hyperloop system. This included embedded software and electronics, networking, cloud data and services, as well as customer-facing applications.
Previously Matt was the Chief Product Officer with moovel Group, Daimler’s mobility subsidiary. His work focused on integrating personal, shared and public transportation options into single-view mobility products. In this role, he prepared the way for connected, autonomous, shared electric vehicles; launching in many cities across the US and EU.
Prior to that, Matt spent almost 14 years at Jaguar Land Rover as the Director of Future Technology leading development of electronic and software systems for the future connected autonomous vehicles. During this time, he also served on the Board of Directors of the Linux Foundation. Matt holds a Master of Engineering in Electronics and Electrical Engineering from the University of Birmingham. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, and a Chartered Engineer within the Institution of Engineering & Technology (IET).
