Julia Rege

Julia has served as the General Manager of Regulatory Affairs for Mercedes-Benz North America Corporation since spring 2022. Prior to that, Julia was at Auto Innovators as the Vice President for Energy and Environment.  She made the transition to Auto Innovators from the Association of Global Automakers, where she spent nine years in the Environment & Energy department.  Julia engages in regulatory policy and advocacy at the federal and state levels on vehicle issues such as, electrification and consumer awareness programs, fuel economy, greenhouse gas and criteria emissions, fuels and infrastructure, and substances of concern.  Prior to 2011, Julia served as senior regulatory engineer at the Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc.  She also worked at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Transportation and Air Quality as an environmental engineer.  Julia has a Masters in Environmental Engineering from the University of Michigan and a B.A. in Environmental Science from Northwestern University.
