Jay Joseph

Jay Joseph is the vice president of Marketing & Customer Experience for American Honda Motor Co., Inc., (AHM) overseeing marketing and public relations for both the Honda and Acura automobile brands as well as the company’s customer experience initiatives.
Joseph joined Honda in 1998, starting in the Auto Operations Division in the Acura Public Relations department. In 2000, Joseph moved to the Product Planning department, as a product planner, and was later promoted to senior product planner for several Acura models.
In 2003, Joseph joined the Product Regulatory Office of American Honda, eventually advancing to the role of assistant vice president, responsible for product safety and regulatory compliance for each Honda product line in the U.S., including passenger cars and light trucks, powersports and power equipment products. In this role, Joseph represented Honda on safety and emissions compliance, regulatory and defect matters to U.S. government agencies.
In 2015, Joseph joined the Automobile Sales Division as the assistant vice president of the Dealer Communication, Training and Technology department. Joseph oversaw automobile dealer communication, product and skills training for Honda and Acura automobile dealership sales consultants, the American Honda interactive network (iN) web portal, serving automobile, powersports and power equipment distributors and retailers.
In 2017, Joseph returned to Auto Operations, overseeing Product Planning, Market Research and Vehicle Quality Assurance departments for both the Honda and Acura brands. Joseph’s role in the Product Planning department included representing the voice of the customer in the product development process to bring the brands’ automobile products to market.
In April 2019, Joseph became the assistant vice president of the Marketing Division of Automobile Sales. Joseph was promoted to vice president in October 2019.
In January 2021, Joseph assumed his current role as vice president of Marketing & Customer Experience.
Joseph is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), previously as a member of its Technical Standards Board (TSB) and a member of the Safety & Human Factors and Motorcycle Committees. Joseph also served as past chair of the Safety Subcommittee of the Association of Global Automakers’ (now the Alliance for Automotive Innovation) Technical Affairs Committee and was on the Hydrogen Executive Leadership Panel of the National Association of State Fire Marshals.
