Jamie Butters

Jamie Butters has covered the auto industry in Detroit for a quarter century, and this year he founded the Butters Bureau LLC, a thought leadership and communications company that is producing an auto-retail newsletter, providing public speaking and consulting services, and launching a new show, Autotown, on WJR 760 AM with a companion podcast and newsletter.

Butters started out studying journalism at the University of Iowa, graduated with a degree in finance from the University of Kentucky and studied China and its economy as a Knight Wallace Fellow at the University of Michigan.

He has been a reporter and editor at the Detroit Free Press, team leader at Bloomberg News, Executive Editor of Automotive News and Detroit bureau chief of the Wall Street Journal. He has also written for Bloomberg BusinessWeek and The New York Times.
