Dr. -Ing. Manfred Sindel

Dr. Manfred Sindel is a member of management within Audi Quality of Materials and Technology for the past 14 years. He is responsible for quality of lightweight materials, carbon fiber reinforced composites, adhesive bonding and non-destructive testing technologies for body design and production. Since several years he is also involved in academic programs for process innovation.

Before joining Audi he worked for Alcoa in the Automotive Structures plant in Soest, Germany, as production coordinator, later also for product strategy and technology mainly on cast product manufacturing and also the development of materials for automotive body parts.

Dr. Sindel holds a degree in physical metallurgy from RWTH Aachen and a Ph.D. in manufacturing of ceramic matrix composites from the Technical University of Hamburg-Harburg.
