David Knight

David Knight is the Founder and CEO of Terbine, the first distributed exchange for data encompassing the physical world aka the Internet of Things. Terbine is focused on bridging three major sectors that increasingly need to share data: mobility, electricity and infrastructure. The Terbine platform creates context, trust and liquidity for the data being generated by these sectors, at scale.

A serial entrepreneur educated in applied physics, Knight’s background is in core technologies including multi-spectral sensing and communications, digital audio, messaging, enterprise software and distributed systems. He was highly involved with building the global e-mail industry, and has architected solutions for consumer products, defense, entertainment and factory automation.

An original executive of the non-profit Ansari XPRIZE that literally launched the private spaceflight industry, Knight continues to promote entrepreneurship and STEM education. He is a Trustee of the California Science Center Foundation which owns and preserves the Space Shuttle Endeavour.
