Dan Clarkson

Dan Clarkson joined General Motors Company in 1984 as a GMI (now Kettering University) Co-Op Student at the Chevrolet Stamping Plant in Flint Michigan.

He is currently the Director Global Body ME – Die and Body based in Warren Michigan.  In this position, Dan has responsibility for all body shop and stamping plant tooling globally.

During his time in the Flint Stamping Plant, Dan progressed through positions of increasing responsibility including Supervisor Tool and Die, Quality Engineer, Manufacturing Planner, and General Supervisor of Tool and Die.

In 1997, Dan was appointed to Sr. Staff Assistant in Program Management at GM’s Metal Fabricating Division Headquarters.   In 1999, Dan was appointed to the positon of Die Integration Engineering Manager following multiple die programs for new vehicle launch.

In 2002, Dan was appointed as Superintendent-Technical support at the Marion Indiana Stamping Plant.  He was later promoted to the position of Quality Manager at Pontiac Stamping (2004) and Arlington Assembly (2007).  While at Arlington, Dan successfully launched General Motors K2 full size utility programs in 2013.

In 2014, Dan was promoted to the position of Director Body ME- Global Dimensional Center.

Throughout his career at General Motors, Dan has been an active leader supporting many community outreach programs and mentoring several organizations within the company.   Dan is married to his wife Lisa and they have two daughters Mackenzie (24) and Ariana (14).

Mr. Clarkson earned a Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing Systems Engineering at GMI Engineering and Management Institute and a Masters of Business Administration from Oakland University.
