Boris Shulkin was named Vice President for Magna International’s Corporate Engineering and Research & Development group in January 2014. In this role, Mr. Shulkin is responsible for technology strategy, technical due diligence for potential investments, technology incubation, and intellectual property assessment of new technologies and high-tech startups.
Mr. Shulkin played an integral role in fostering Magna’s partnership with Lyft and also managed the development of Magna’s MAX4 autonomous vehicle platform. He led the incubation of new radar chip development, and plays a key role in identifying potential new partners to bring new technologies to market.
Mr. Shulkin has more than 24 years of experience in the automotive industry. He began his career in the auto industry in 1995 as an engineer and joined Magna in 2003.
Mr. Shulkin holds doctoral and graduate degrees in Computer Science, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics and Applied Statistics. Mr. Shulkin also holds multiple patents spanning manufacturing, process design, product and controls.
