Last week, the U.S. Congress passed the largest spending bill in its history to respond to what may be the most significant public health and economic crisis the United States has ever seen. The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act provides payments to individuals and enhanced unemployment benefits to those who lost their jobs. The CARES act also provides automakers, suppliers and dealers the lifeline of liquidity needed to carry them through the next few months.
