Florian Schek

Florian Schek is Head of Lightweight Design and Vehicle weight, responsible for all vehicles in BMW Group’s product portfolio. He was working as a manager in the field of lightweight design since the beginning of 2012, being responsible for the medium and large product lines. He took over full responsibility in 2015.

Mr. Schek started his career in 2000 with BMW in competitive analysis and product target management, in 2006 he switched position to product portfolio development and product strategy within the R&D Division, working on the strategic setup for the first X1 and the new front-wheel drive architecture, which was launched with the New MINI in 2013.

Mr. Schek studied at the universities of applied sciences in Berlin and Munich and holds a diploma in mechanical engineering, specialized in automotive engineering.
