Terry Henning is Plant Manager of Dearborn Tool and Die, Ford Motor Company. Mr. Henning began his career as a tool and die apprentice at Republic Die and Tool and has worked for Caterpillar, General Motors and Ford Motor Company. He has previously held positions as die room manager, manufacturing engineering manager, new model launch manager and lean manufacturing manager and has more than 35 years in his field of expertise.

During his tenure at the plant he has utilized lean manufacturing principles in the construction and tryout for large automotive stamping dies. The focus was to become a leader in tooling industry in blending the right mix of people, processes and technology.

The plant has been benchmarked for its initiatives in reducing construction timing and improving cost and quality. Much of the last several years have been dedicated to the transition from building dies that produce mild steel parts to making lightweight aluminum and high strength steel components.

Mr. Henning earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan -Dearborn and a Master’s degree from Central Michigan University.
