Navigating an Electric Vehicle Future: Virtual Workshop
September 25 @ 1:00 pm - September 28 @ 5:00 pm
About this event
As the nation moves towards net-zero emissions, the widespread adoption of electric vehicles will play a critical role in decarbonizing the transportation sector. Ongoing technology improvements continue to make electric vehicles (EVs) a more affordable and practical option, but many challenges remain to meet the needs of all users and to ensure that manufacturing supply chains and the electric system can support this large-scale transformation.
Join the National Academies for a four-day virtual workshop on October 25-28, 2021 from 1-5pm ET to learn about the latest developments in electric vehicle technologies. Speakers from industry, academia, NGOs, and government will address how widespread EV deployment could affect vehicle manufacturing and the electric grid, and ways that EVs can meet the transportation needs of all consumers. Workshop discussions will encompass policy, technical, and market strategies to help federal agencies and other stakeholders plan for the future.
DATES, TIMES, AND TOPICS:
- Monday, October 25, 2021 from 1-5pm ET: Electric Vehicles 101 and Transportation Decarbonization
- Tuesday, October 26, 2021 from 1-5:15pm ET: Vehicle Production and Lifecycle
