Transportation and Information Systems Planning (TISP)

CAR maintains Transportation and Information Systems Planning expertise and has extensive experience working with public agencies, automotive companies, automotive suppliers, telecommunications companies, and information service providers to forecast, plan, manage, and evaluate integrated transportation and information systems. TISP is currently supporting the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) in the planning of vehicle-infrastructure systems projects and related Vehicle-Infra-structure Integration (VII) activities. Past TISP projects have included evaluation of the national Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) architecture, development of a strategic framework for deploying ITS in Michigan, evaluation of numerous in-vehicle and roadside traveler information systems, evaluation of community and public transportation systems, evaluation of advanced traffic control systems, preparing a strategic plan for transit services in Michigan, assessment of the benefits and costs of ITS, and planning ITS deployment alternatives in the metropolitan Detroit area.
