Jaguar Land Rover Product Development

Born in Dunfermline, Scotland in 1960, Mark has worked for Jaguar Cars most of his career since graduating from Coventry University in 1983.

Starting in Body Engineering in 1987, Mark became Sports car BIW Manager in 1990 leading the development of XJ-S Facelift & the XK8 Body Programs.

In 1998 Mark took responsibility for all Jaguar Body in White Programs & in 2002 also took responsibility for Land Rover Body in White Engineering.

In 2004 Mark was promoted to the position of Chief Technical Specialist, responsible for Body Engineering related System Strategy and Research & Advanced projects, including Light Weight Vehicle technology development.

In 2012 as part of Jaguar Land Rover expansion, Mark took responsibility for the newly formed Body Complete Business Unit for JLR, responsible for the Design & development of all JLR Body Structures, Sheet metal, Closures, Roof Systems & related mechanisms.

Mark is part of the JLR Product Development team, focused on significant weight reduction in the Body & related systems & was awarded a Doctor of Engineering by Brunel University in 2011 for his work on light weight structures, examples of which include the 2002 XJ LWV, the 2006 XK LWV, the 2010 XJ LWV & the 2012 Range Rover & F-type LWV’s.

Mark is a self-confessed car nut & amongst his hobbies is driving the great roads of the world, watching all forms of Motor Sport & doing as many track days as he can.
