Michigan Department of Talent and Economic Development
Dave Murray has been with the Department of Talent and Economic Development since March, 2016, part of a team working to create more and better jobs, grow a talented workforce and strengthen Michigan communities.
His responsibilities include coordinating communication efforts with the Talent Investment Agency, Michigan Economic Development Corporation, Michigan State Housing Development Authority and the Michigan Land Bank.
He previously served as Gov. Rick Snyder’s press secretary and deputy press secretary.
Murray joined the Snyder administration in 2013 after 23 years as a journalist for the Flint Journal, the Grand Rapids Press and MLive where he largely focused on local, state and national education issues.
He also reported for three years for the Bridgeport Post in Connecticut. Murray is a 1986 graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism and lives in Rockford, Mich.
