Advanced powertrain development continues to be an increasingly important and dynamic arena for all industry stakeholders. A focus on the role potential automotive fuels will play in defining powertrain choices in the coming decade is central to the fifth annual Advanced Powertrain Forum. While the automotive industry has begun the long and expensive task of developing advanced powertrain technologies, these options must be considered within the context of the rapidly changing global energy future. Development of alternative fuels must be considered as well. Panelists from the energy industry and vehicle manufacturers will address the challenges of future fuels and powertrains.

The program will also include a case study in collaboration, with a panel of members of the joint hybrid development partnership between General Motors, DaimlerChrysler and BMW.
