Tuesday Afternoon Session, August 2, 1:30 –4:30 p.m.

As suppliers strive to meet their customer's needs overseas by relocating business and production activities or seeking business prospects overseas, staff recruitment, retention, and deployment activities become increasingly complex. This complexity demands effective planning processes and forecasting metrics to assess future human capital and staffing needs.

"Workforce Strategy in a Global Automotive Economy" will explore the human capital challenges that face major suppliers as they globalize. Panelists will discuss the impact an organization's structure has on global workforce strategy and the merits of using workforce metrics to align company's staffing needs with its global business objectives.

We will present the results of OSAT's recent research, in cooperation with Watson Wyatt that focuses on the ways major suppliers organize globally and how their workforce strategies are crucial to the success of these efforts.
