Automotive Communities Program - Grant County Economic Growth Council

Grant County (Marion) Indiana is in the heart of Indiana’s I69 Corridor. Already Grant County is home to such automotive leaders as: Amcast Automotive, General Motors Metal Fabrication, Dana Torque and Traction, Pierce Company, & TwoSons ESP. Grant County has proven record of visionary and collaborative leadership in its quest to create or retain jobs. Notable local efforts have included being the first Indiana County to repeal the Inventory Tax, designing specialty training programs, providing capital cost assistance including write downs of fully developed land and most recently becoming part of a pilot target investment credit program. This investment incentive is only available to a select few communities along Interstate 69 and the benefit applies to logistic and modern information technology equipment investments.

The local partnerships that have resulted from these projects have garnered national recognition by economic development organizations as diverse as the National League of Cities and the Industrial Development Research Council... With access to over 250,000 workers a cutting edge economic development partnership with two world class universities and the excitement of being named as Indiana newest Community College location, it is quite evident that Grant County’s strength is truly working.
