Automotive Communities Program

The Automotive Communities Program is a unique, non-profit, community-industry partnership administered by the Center for Automotive Research (CAR).

The purpose of the ACP is to link the major traditional centers of automotive activity to each other and to the changing North American industry in order to improve the likelihood of regional automotive renewal.

Initially funded by a grant from the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation, the ACP is now self funding with membership including communities from Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Missouri, Illinois, and Ontario, Canada. Several automakers, as well as automotive supplier firms have joined the ACP.
