Chris Baker

Michelin North America

Chris Baker is Director of Motorsports for Michelin North America.  In this role, he is responsible for motorsports and small-volume specialty vehicle manufacturer / tuner programs for both the Michelin and BFGoodrich brands for the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Baker oversees all aspects of Michelin’s motorsports engagements in North America to include marketing, activation, local (North American) racing product development and team support.  He also works to coordinate the company’s global motorsports efforts.

Throughout his career, Baker has held numerous research scientist and team leader positions for passenger-car and light truck product research.  He was also selected to serve in Michelin’s passenger-car and light-truck technical marketing organization. Before assuming duties as Michelin’s Motorsports Director for North America, Baker served as Passenger Car and Light Truck Product Research Manager at MNA’s subsidiary, Michelin Americas Research Company.

Baker is a graduate of Davidson College and of North Carolina State University, with undergraduate degrees in both physics and mechanical engineering and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering.
