President & COO
Ernie Green Industries, Inc.
In March of 2010 Larry Jutte began serving as President & COO of Ernie Green Industries. He was formerly senior vice president of Honda of America Mfg. and a member of the Company’s Board of Directors and the Honda of America Operations Committee. Mr. Jutte provided guidance and direction to Honda’s North American operations and North American Green Factory environmental program. He also served on the Board of Directors of Honda Engineering North America and Honda North America Board of Directors.
Mr. Jutte joined Honda in 1985 as a staff engineer in the Equipment Service Department at the Anna Engine Plant. In 1988, he was promoted to senior staff engineer, manager of Equipment Service and in subsequent years held various management roles at the Engine plant. He became manager of the East Liberty Auto Plant in November 1992 and vice president in 1995. He led the launch of the 1996 Civic and preparation for launch of the 1996 Acura CL coupe, the first Acura built in the U.S. Jutte returned to the Anna Engine Plant in May 1996 as plant manager and vice President. Under major expansion, Mr.Jutte oversaw the construction and installation of new production lines to increase engine production to 900,000 units per year including an exclusive new V-6 engine.
In February 2000, Mr. Jutte was named general manager of Parts & Procurement, and in the following June promoted to senior vice president. Under his leadership, the team had developed many benchmark practices in the area of lean manufacturing, logistics, and new model launch process standardization. His role transitioned in 2007 to Honda’s North American operations working with the company’s presidents to innovate and support Honda businesses. In July of 2009 he resigned his position from Honda to focus on other areas of interest. In 2009 he became Managing Member of Auld Technologies LLC. Before joining Honda, he was a project supervisor for Sidney Electric Company, Sidney, Ohio.
Mr. Jutte is an advocate for “Competing Globally Locally” in lean manufacturing. He sits on the advisory board for Ohio State University’s Center for International Business Education & Research (CIBER) and also supports various manufacturing initiatives in the state of Ohio. He also sits on the Board of Directors for Cooper Standard Automotive and Koenig Equipment Company.
Mr. Jutte holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Capital University, Columbus, Ohio, and completed a four-year electrical apprenticeship program.
