Bernard Swiecki serves as assistant director of the Automotive Communities Partnership (ACP) at the Center for Automotive Research (CAR), as well as holding the position of senior project manager in CAR’s Sustainability and Economic Development Strategies Group. He joined CAR in 1994.
Mr. Swiecki has written and managed research in a diverse array of automotive fields pertaining to automakers, suppliers, economic development, and a variety of other subjects. He manages CAR’s analysis of vehicle sales, production, and segmentation data. He has also led trade missions to China, Italy, India, and Russia.
Mr. Swiecki has authored numerous articles for print publications, as well as a monthly column, on the automotive industry. He regularly presents at conferences and industry events in North America, Europe, and Asia, and provides interviews to local, national, and global media.
Mr. Swiecki is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and Society of Automotive Analysts (SAA). Since 2009 he has been a member of the U.S. Department of Commerce Eastern Michigan District Export Council and also serves on the Advisory Panel of the Detroit Chinese Business Association. He received his B.A. from the University of Michigan in 1998 and his M.S. from Eastern Michigan University in 2003.
