Detroit's second annual plug-in electric vehicle (PEV) conference will take place October 12-14, 2010 at the Marriott at the Renaissance Center in Detroit, Michigan. This conference will bring together a diverse mix of leaders from the automotive, utility, academic, finance and new technology industries for three days of business development, education, and networking.

The 2010 CAR Management Briefing Seminars concluded on Thursday afternoon, August 5. Key speakers included executives from Chrysler, Ford, GM, and Bob King of the UAW. Additional speakers included leaders from BMW, Toyota, Honda, Nissan and Volkswagen as well as from Continental, Johnson Controls, Tata Technologies and Yazaki.

The Honorable Governor Jennifer Granholm addressed the Automotive session Wednesday morning.

Roads to Renewal: A Summit on the Changing Automotive Industry - How Communities Can Thrive

On April 14 & 15, 2009 at the Renaissance Chicago Hotel, Chicago, Illinois close to 200 people attended this inaugural event, including Dr. Edward Montgomery, the Obama Administration’s Director of Recovery for Automotive Communities and Workers.

The Summit addressed the challenges that automotive communities face regarding the overall state of the economy, the industry's future, its impact on communities, and lessons learned from the development of the auto industry in the southern region of the United States.

Planning is underway for the 2010 event.
